“Modess… because,” Modess, 1952.

This successful advertising campaign ran from 1948 through the 1970s, using couture clothes, modeling icons, and palatial settings to convince women that Modess pads were the link between themselves and the glamorous lifestyle depicted. Pads are mentioned nowhere, disconnecting the viewer from the reality of menstruation.
