“Introducing the Discreet Way to Carry and Dispose of Your Sure & Natural,” Sure & Natural, December 1985.

The disembodied hand appears again in this advertisement in the service of discreet disposal. Without proper disposal, used pads and tampons created sanitation and environmental problems. Made of non-degradable materials, they could not be flushed away. To make trash disposal more aesthetically pleasing, Sure & Natural marketed “Tiny Totes” pads in 1985. The pads came in individual bags for discreet carrying and disposal.
